When I lived in Telluride a few years ago I worked at the Ah Haa School for the Arts. In the summer the school runs an annual Art Auction, its biggest fundraiser of the year. There are lots of amazing artists and incredible people in that town – its scenery, terrain and atmosphere bring in the best of the best. One artist I fell in love with when there was Ron Patterson. His ability to capture the humor and playfulness in the cows below blows my mind.
His focus on animals like cows (a staple of Telluride on the valley floor), horses, chickens, and more appeals to me as the only animals I see in New York are my boss’s cat, Moose, and everyone’s tiny little teacup pups.
Ron also does landscapes, which are lovely. They capture the cool essence of those mountains and I love them all.
